Dear R & E Bicycle Group and Tim Kneeland & Associates,

I want to thank each of you and your representatives so much for the "Great Clean Up Job" you did in the Fremont Bridge area.

Our Bridge Operator on duty, Patty Perry reported your work to me. She was impressed by such a "perfectionist job" done by your group. She also said your group cleaned "every inch" of the area between N 34th Street to the southern intersection of Westlake Ave. N and Nickerson St. Such a small group, only about 10 people, worked many hours cleaning to accomplish this feat.

Apparently Estelle Gray and Dan Towle did a major part in coordinating volunteer efforts and pulling this off. Although I am sure they did this work expecting no accolade, having them and other volunteers that are ready, willing and able to give their time is remarkable and deserves recognition.

The City needs more people like you!

The Engineering Department's current budget woes means cutbacks in personnel along with other routine field work previously done. We certainly want to give recognition to your volunteers willingness to donate time and effort to pick up the extra work the community.

Sincerely,
